Morevi
Morevi is the creative moniker of the Georgian-Belgian artist duo Ana Naskidashvili and Frederik Poisquet. Their studio specializes in hand-felted tapestries that modernize traditional Georgian designs, offering warmth and a deep sense of connection.
Morevi was founded on a desire to reconnect with slow, deliberate handwork and natural materials
Morevi reinterprets the ancient Georgian tradition of hand-felted tapestries—once central to Tusheti homes as symbols of community and belonging—through a contemporary lens. Using a slow, meditative felting process with local Belgian wool, they create two series: Liminal, hand-dyed with indigo to evoke the transitional twilight between day and night, and Terra, composed in natural earthy tones to ground viewers in the physical world. These tactile works, made through centuries-old techniques of binding raw wool fibres with warm water and friction, serve as modern beacons within spaces, offering warmth, comfort, and a profound sense of rootedness.
Our guests and visitors can now discover the tapestry of Morevi at Cá na serra as part of the exhibition Poetics of Material and Space, curated by Sanae Collective.
Poetics of Material and space runs until September 2026 and can be visited by appointment or by staying at Cá na Serra. The exhibition will exceptionally open to the public on 23rd May 2026, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the dialogue between maker, material and space.
