Poetics of Material and Space

Swiss based Sanae Collective presents a curated selection of contemporary designers within the serene architecture of Cá na Serra. Each piece reflects a profound dedication to artisanal mastery, where material, form and context converge to create objects that embody authenticity and intent.

The exhibition explores the dialogue between object, material, and space, underscoring the enduring value of craftsmanship and form. The Poetics of Material and Place examines how objects inhabit and transform space, engaging with memory, environment, and human touch. Craft is seen as a practice shaped equally by hand and context, where each work contributes to a shared architectural and spatial language. The exhibition presents objects not as singular entities, but as elements of an interconnected and living environment.

This exhibition brings together a curated selection of handcrafted works by Morevi, Marlies Huybs, Jessy Van Durme, Moss Studio, and Que Onda Vos.

This exhibition invites a quiet reflection on how objects, materials, and spaces relate to one another — where each gesture, surface and form carries the story of its making.

Poetics of Material and space runs until September 2026 and can be visited by appointment or by staying at Cá na Serra. The exhibition will exceptionally open to the public on 23 April 2026 for a special vernissage, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the dialogue between maker, material and space.
